Google ends the Agreement with Huawei, will cut off its major services from Huawei Phones

Chinese Smartphone Maker Huawei is facing serious issues in the US from the past few weeks, Recently in the last week, US President, Donald Trump administration added the Huawei brand in the trade blacklist which negatively impacted the company’s sales in the US and made it harder for the company to do trades in the US.

However, the situation becomes worst after the tech giant, Google also suspended the ongoing business with Huawei. This suspension clearly means that the company will instantly lose access to all the updates to Google’s Android OS as well as its associated services.

Google has completely suspended the business with Huawei which includes the transfer of hardware, software of any services on the platform. Not only that, some other US-based chip makers like Qualcomm, Intel and Broadcom acknowledge to instantly disrupt the business with the Huawei. All of this misfortune became a serious headache for Huawei.

However, Google has reported that this suspension will not affect the existing users as the tech giant will continue to offer its services for existing Huawei users. Google will continue to offer future Android updates to the existing users.  As a Google spokesperson told Reuters, “For users of our services, Google Play and the security protections from Google Play Protect will continue to function on existing Huawei devices.”

But will terminate all the services for the future sales of the Huawei phones. This means users who are willing to buy Huawei phones will not get access to Google’s services including Gmail, YouTube, Google Maps and many more apps.

However, from the company perspective, there’s an alternate way to continue to work on the public version of Android but will get only limited functionality over it.

This is not only the threat to the root company but also, Huawei sub-brand Honor will get affected to this misfortune. Honor phones too will not get the native Android OS from Google and will be discontinued from all Google’s services.

Huawei’s suspension is good for some other companies like Samsung as this has become the best competitor to Samsung’s phones. However, for Apple, this has become a major concern as it will lose sales in the Chinese market. In China, people also started to drop Apple’s phone in the surge of anti-Apple and anti-US messages posted on Weibo.

All of the above, this has been a major concern for the Huawei after Google’s suspension. However, it will be difficult for the company to overcome this suspension.
