Google Duo, Google’s own popular Video Calling App has recently added a new capability to make a group video call up to 8 persons. Now, the same app gets a new update that lets you send photos with 24 hours validity. Until now, Google Duo was exclusive for making Video Calls only. With this new update, you can now share images within the platform as well.

Google Duo v56 brings this new Snapchat-like photo sharing feature. The photos that you share will be deleted after 24 hours. You can send single photos to your chats using this app which will be deleted automatically. This update is live already and you can get it by updating Google Duo app to its latest version i.e. v56.

The original Google Duo v56 was launched on Thursday for limited users only. They have added an official application to Android allowing users to share Google Photos, Files etc. This feature lets you share any single photo saved on Google Photos to your chat within the Google Duo app.

What’s not changed in this update is all the existing tools and features of the Google Duo app are available as it is. They are still there and you will not see any changes in the tools and features of the app. You can send a video message with Google Duo by customizing it with colorful texts. You can also change the fonts and redesign the entire video using the existing tools from the Google Duo app.

With this update, an image can be sent to multiple contacts simultaneously within the app. In the initial testing done by 9to5Android, they have not made the Google Sheet feature available. However, as per their official statement, Google Sheet will also be integrated with the app for the users allowing them to share Google Sheet as well for 24 hours to the contacts.

When you send a photo, the recipient will receive a notification regarding this on their display. You can view this photo for as many times as you want for the next 24 hours. After 24 hours, the photo will be gone itself.

You can grab the official Google Duo v56 from Play Store.
