Google Duo Group Calling Facility Rolled Out to Everyone


Google’s official video calling app, Google Duo receives a new update and it is awesome. We have already heard about that the giant is bringing the much-awaited group calling feature to its native video calling app. And from today, everyone will get to use this feature on their smartphone with Google Duo’s updated version.

Google had released an updated version of Google Duo app with a new group calling feature to some markets a few weeks back. However, the same feature is now made available to everyone across the globe. The updated Google Duo app is now available to download on Android’s Play Store and iOS’ AppStore.

According to this new feature, the video calling facility in the Google Duo app now lets up to 8 users to take part in it. Unlike other video calling apps who offers only 4 persons to add in a group chat, the Duo now lets you add up to 8 people in a group chat.

Just like voice calls, the group calls made by Google Duo app are end-to-end encrypted.

Aside from the Group Calling facility up to 8 people, the company has added a few significant features to the app for some regions of the world.

India is the most popular market of the Google Duo app with over 60% users of the app, the company has added new features for the users of India to this app. The new Google Duo app comes with a new data saver feature that lets you make full HD video calls by consuming fewer data of your network.

As per the officials, the new data saver feature on Google Duo app will consume up to 50% less data. There will be an option to enable or disable this feature. And you can also set the network type to enable this feature. You can set up this feature with Wi-Fi or just Mobile Networks feature as per your needs.

The same data saver feature on Google Duo app is live now in Indonesia and Brazil. The same feature will make its way to other regions of the world very shortly.
