Google Chrome will be getting the Multimedia Key Support in its upcoming Update

Google has officially announced that they will be integrating the Multimedia Key support for Chrome in the next update which is set to arrive in the next month. This feature will be rolled out with Chrome 73 which will be available for Windows, MacOS, and for ChromeOS. However, in the upcoming weeks, this feature will also be available for Linux.

After this update, Chrome will support the multimedia keys which are given on the desktop and laptop keyboards. Chrome users can simply use multimedia keys to “Play”, “Pause”, “Previous track,” “next track,” “seek backward,” and “seek forward.” the media playing on Chrome just by pressing keys from their keyboard rather than clicking on the icons from the mouse.

Google also included that this feature will be available at Browser level instead of Tab level, which means that you can control the media running on Chrome through multimedia keys even if the Chrome is running in the background.
