Google has started rolling out an updated version of the Google Chrome browser. The new Google Chrome 80 has been released and it has brought a number of much-awaited and useful updates to the existing browser. We already know about Google’s new version which was being designed to prevent cross-site tracking by the websites. This is the main feature that you will be going to use on the updated Google Chrome.

Google already revealed that they were working on this feature since mid-2019 which has been rolled out officially starting from today. This is a good step that has taken by Google to prevent cookies vulnerabilities used by many websites for collecting the data and to know the web behavior of the users.

Apparently, the update has added two new major features to the existing Google Chrome browser. Many users took to Twitter to share the information about the newly released Google Chrome browser i.e. Google Chrome 80. You can find out the tweet from here.

The first major update on this browser is the behavior of cookies and the data stored by cookies. Cookies are simple text based files which are now being used by the websites and as a result, hackers are also trying to hack your system and its files by using the same data stored by the websites as cookies.

Starting with the new version, Chrome will only upload the cookies sent from the same domain. It is known as same-site cookies or first-party cookies. No other third-party cookies can be uploaded to the server. It prevents websites and hackers from stealing your web activities.

In a nutshell, the new changes made in Google Chrome’s latest edition is fully technical. If you are a non-technical person, then you will not be able to get what Google has offered in the latest version of Google Chrome. Still, it is good for you to go ahead and update the existing Google Chrome’s edition to the latest one i.e. Google Chrome 80.

The second major update is the prevention of spam messages and notifications. Chrome will not show up the pop-up notifications to you if they are irrelevant.
