Google has launched a new Android app in India called Kormo Jobs with an aim to help job seekers to discover and apply for jobs across the country.
“In the wake of the pandemic, the jobs landscape stands altered, with demand shifting to new services that require different sets of skills and experience. Businesses of all sizes face the challenges of the new normal, while job seekers are having to adapt to this shift quickly. We are heartened to be able to play a helpful role in facilitating connections to impact lives for the better, including introducing important features like remote interviewing earlier this year to ensure social distancing,” said Google India in a blog post.
To recall, the company first launched Kormo Jobs in Bangladesh in 2018 and later brought it to Indonesia in 2019. Besides this, Google last year made Kormo available in India but under the brand Jobs Spot on Google Pay app. Using the app, employers like Zomato and Dunzo were able to find candidates with the required skills, experience and location preferences, as per Google.
While the exact launch date of the Kormo Jobs app on Google Play Store is not known, the listing does reveal that it has over 10,00,000 downloads.
The Google Kormo Jobs app not only helps users in identifying entry-level roles, but it also helps them in creating a CV and learning new skills to enhance that CV.
The app description on the Google Play Store suggests that it requires the applicants to create a profile to create a digital CV that can be shared directly to the jobs listed on the app.
