Until now, when a user changes his smartphone, he had to start the two-factor authentication process from the beginning. But from now, with the updated Google Authenticator app, you can easily transfer between your phone’s data including the two-factor authentication.

Google has officially released a report about the new update of the Google Authenticator app. According to Google, the new app helps users to transfer their data including the authentication codes. While switching to a new phone, Google will not collect any kind of user’s data.

According to Android Police, the Google Authenticator app gets a new look. The new app now supports devices with different screen sizes and aspect ratios. The updated Authenticator app also gets support for the dark theme.

If you want to transfer your security codes from one device to the other, you need to use the export option available on the app. You can move the security codes from one device to the other through a QR Code. The recipient has to accept the codes by selecting the import option.

Furthermore, Google added that security is their priority and that’s why they are working hard to bring the best of security for their users. The two-factor authentication on Google’s Android devices was much-needed and highly requested update which goes live now for all the Android-powered devices.

The embedded import and export tool included on the updated Google Authenticator app makes the entire user interface of the app seamless. You will be able to select from which account you want to import the security codes along with the data. With the added accounts, you will see the list of all the accounts there on the app.

Once you select the account, you will be able to import the codes to a new Android device with just one click.
