Google Allows You To Auto-Delete Location Data


Google is finally rolling out an update that lets users delete their location-related history automatically from their phone’s Google app. Yes, the same feature was under its testing environment which is now officially released by Google. The same update is not just for the location history, but users will be allowed to delete other history explored with Google’s services.

Previously, we were able to turn off the tracking feature on Google. But now, we will have more power to delete the location and web surfing history automatically. Most people don’t want Google to store their data and for that reason, they are switching to different platforms. To keep them stick to Google and its services, the giant has released this all-new feature to safeguard your sensitive data and location history.

The same feature was first announced in the May month which is officially launched for both, Android and iOS smartphone platforms. Google has released this information via its official Twitter handle. You can check more about their announcement in the embedded tweet.

Google will keep on storing your location and other histories on its environment. However, with this new feature, users can auto-delete the collected data from Google. There will be more simplified options to select the time period for this feature. Users can choose from three months to 18 months to auto-delete their data from Google.

With this new feature, you will have more options to deal with Google. You can manually delete your collected data from Google’s Settings option, or you can set up this new auto-delete feature with specific time-period. You can also stop Google from tracking your data by enabling their Tracking feature. You can explore all these useful features from the Settings menu of the app.

Well, Google has just announced this feature and it is not yet made available for the public. The giant will roll out this update gradually and for that, we have to wait for some more days to see it live on our respective Android and iOS devices. We will update you if it’s up on our devices.
