Gmail for Android and iOS Gets Official Dark Mode


Google has announced that the official Dark Mode for Gmail and Play Store on Android and iOS platforms started rolling out from today. The new Dark Mode feature is updated for iOS devices with the new iOS 13 update on Gmail and Play Store. While the Android users can update the app to receive and enable this feature.

According to Google’s official announcement, Gmail will automatically switch to Dark Mode on the devices running on iOS 13 or Android 10. The company has further added that the Dark Mode will be available for 15 days of trial for the devices running on an earlier version of Android i.e. Android 9.0.

How to enable Dark Mode on the Gmail App for Android? 

To enable the Dark Mode on the Gmail app on Android platform, head over to Android Display System settings first. You will see an option that will let you enable the Dark Mode feature on the Gmail app.

Google’s Pixel devices will have this feature automatically enabled when they set their device to Battery Saver mode. Just enable this feature from the Settings menu and the Gmail app will automatically switch to the Dark Mode.

On the Android devices running on Earlier version will see a new theme option under the display settings menu. Go to the Gmail app and you can see the Dark Theme option from where you can enable the dark mode.

How to enable Dark Mode on the Gmail App for iOS?

Apple has just released its new and much-awaited iOS update i.e. iOS 13. The update brings the much-awaited Dark Mode to the entire device that lets you use the device with dark mode.

You can enable dark mode to see all the apps in the dark mode including Google’s Gmail and Play Store apps. You just need to switch the device to Dark Mode to see the things.

Alternatively, the devices running on iOS 12 or below can head over to the Settings menu and then select Dark Theme option to change the theme.

Apart from the Gmail app, the same Dark mode is now made available for Play Store as many users have reported this update on various social networking and forums websites.
