vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, has halted its sales in Germany following a patent dispute which favored Finnish equipment supplier, Nokia. The company’s website makes no mention of its products for sale, which suggests a temporary or permanent closure of its online store. It is unclear if vivo’s exit from the German market is a precursor to exiting other European markets as OnePlus and OPPO were reportedly considering. Both companies was also barred from selling in Germany due to the same patent dispute with Nokia. vivo will, however, continue to offer customer service and software updates to existing consumers. The company has yet to release a statement on the issue.
