Genius Lyrics Now Available Apple Music Subscribers Within the App

Genius has recently announced that it has made Apple Music its official music player and that it will share its lyrics on the music streaming service. Earlier today, Genius announced that Apple Music subscribers will now be able to view lyrics to almost any song that they’re listening to via the app’s lyrics section.

Genius is a lyrics encyclopedia website that previously known as Rap Genius. And now that it is available on Apple Music subscribers, you will be able to find the lyrics to any of the “thousands of hit songs” supported by the service. That is a huge leap for Apple, but the partnership even goes further.

This new feature supports a flexible range of subscribers as Genius has made Apple Music as the official music player for both the website and its mobile app. Because of that, Apple Music subscribers will be able to play any music they find on the Genius website, just by simply signing in with their Apple Music account details.

“Being able to read lyrics and annotations on Genius while you listen along on Apple Music is a dream Genius experience.  We’re proud to make Apple Music our official music player, and we’re doubly excited to bring Genius lyrics to their amazing platform”, Ben Gross (Genius chief strategy officer) said in their blog post.

Even though the lyrics won’t be the same is it looks like before, a great user experience is rest assured.  “Lyrics on Apple Music won’t look exactly like they do on Genius since we have some different formatting (for example, section headers), but the lyrical content will be consistent across both platforms. For now, that means we won’t be able to tell whether the lyrics for a given song on Apple Music come from Genius or not, but there may be updates on this in the future, so stay tuned!”, Genius said.

It is a great update for you to try, so make sure that you have the latest version of Apple Music installed on your iOS device.
