Niantic has announced that the Generation 4 Pokemons from the Sinnoh region (the Diamond and Pearl games) are now available in Pokemon Go. Players can now capture their favourite pokemons such as Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup.
The Sinnoh Pokemon that was originally found in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum will be released in waves, which means you cannot get them all at once. The first batch has arrived today and will be followed by additional Pokemons in coming weeks. Sinnoh Pokemon can be catch in different ways like in the wild, battle in raids, or hatch in eggs.
The complete list of pokemons that has been released in the first batch is still unknown. But Niantic mentioned some of the starter Pokemons such as Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. The newly released trailer released this morning also shows off Munchlax, Mamoswine, Shellos, Gastrodon, Glaceon, Leafeon, Pachirisu, Garchomp, Lucario, Buneary, and a short teaser for Legendary Pokemon Giratina was also shown.
If you are eager to catch all of these pokemon, there is an adventure waiting for you as you need to literally travel on different regions just to encounter them. Certain creatures can only be found in specific localities according to the Pokémon Go aficionados at the Silph Road Reddit community.
An example of this is Carnivine which can only be found in the Carolinas, and since it’s a grass-type pokemon, it will also appear in Florida, Maryland, and Georgia. Another one is Pachirisu, an electric-squirrel Pokemon, and it seems to be only exclusive in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Despite these new releases, some Pokemon from previous generations are still missing from the game. Smeargle has still not been released from Generation 2, and Nincada, Ninjask, Shedinja, Kecleon, Clamperl, Huntail, Gorebyss, and Jirachi are still missing as well.
As Niantic seems to be releasing pokemons in an unprecedented way, we might still have a chance to this pokemons join the game. It might be sooner or later, everything can be possible, so stay tuned with TechnoCodex to be always updated.
