GenDino lets you create your own Chrome Dino Game with AI for a limited time

If you ever wanted to make your own custom Chrome Dino Game, you now have the chance with the limited-time launch of the GenDino game from Google Labs.

Prior to the Google I/O keynote, Google offered attendees a limited-time chance to make their own version of the classic Chrome Dino Game. Sadly, this was not available for too long. In fact, GenDino was unusable by 10 a.m. PT on the day of Google’s keynote—that is, until now.

To celebrate International Dino Day, the official labs.google X (formerly Twitter) account has confirmed that you’re now able to play around with the tool that is powered by Imagen 2. GenDino lets you use prompts to choose your character, what said character will be jumping over, and the background characters or backdrop until you collide with an in-game barrier.

Your prompts will be turned into little greyscale pixel art, and once you choose the “Let’s Run,” it’s the same Chrome Dino Game you’ve likely played for hours and hours while offline before. You can even share your creations if you want someone to play your specific game. There are some limitations to what you can create, but most things are possible if you have the imagination to think of it.

To play for yourself, just head to labs.google/gendino and start creating your own version of one of Google Chrome’s icons. To play you also need to sign into your Google account with no way to play without signing in.

Here’s the bad news again: Like the original drop, GenDino is not sticking around forever. You’ll have just a week to play before it goes the way of the dinosaurs.
