According to Gal Gadot, she will be collaborating with DC Studios’ James Gunn and Peter Safran to develop Wonder Woman 3.

Back in February of this year, James Gunn and Peter Safran, from DC Studios, emphasized the significant role Wonder Woman would play in the future of the DC Extended Universe (DCU). They have proven their intentions by announcing the prequel series called Paradise Lost as part of their initial “Chapter 1 – Gods and Monsters” slate of films and series. However, the question remains: What about the current Wonder Woman? Initially, there were doubts since it was revealed that Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman (2017) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), would not be returning to helm a third film. This led to speculations that Gal Gadot, who portrays Wonder Woman, would also not be returning. Additionally, with the departures of Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, the future of the DC Universe seemed uncertain. But now, it seems that Gadot will indeed be a part of Gunn and Safran’s new DC Universe, as confirmed by Gadot herself. During an interview with ComicBook.com in support of her film Heart of Stone, Gadot expressed her love for portraying Wonder Woman and revealed that she will be involved in the development of Wonder Woman 3 alongside James Gunn and Peter Safran. While no further details have been disclosed, we eagerly await any reactions or confirmations from Gunn regarding this exciting news.

Paradise Lost, set before the birth of Diana (Wonder Woman) on the island of Themyscira, is envisioned by Safran and Gunn as a “Game of Thrones”-like exploration of Wonder Woman’s origins. When the series was first announced, Safran described it as delving into the political intrigue of a society consisting entirely of women. The title may be recognizable to comic fans, as it is derived from Phil Jimenez and George Pérez’s Paradise Island Lost comics series. Gunn raised intriguing questions about the series’ themes, such as the origin of an all-women island, the hidden truths behind it, and the power struggles within the society.
