Fujifilm’s newest addition to its Instax camera lineup, the Fujifilm Instax SQ40, has been leaked and it exudes retro charm. According to a press release shared by Fuji Rumors, the SQ40 takes design inspiration from the Instax Mini 40 and combines it with the Instax square instant film format used by the Instax SQ1.
The leaked pictures showcase a faux-leather black texture with silver-effect accents on the lens and shutter button. As fans of the Mini 40’s retro appeal and the larger size of the Instax square film, the SQ40 offers the best of both worlds. This camera has the potential to become one of the best instant cameras, although it may not be as compact as the Mini 40.
The new camera features automatic exposure for effortless point-and-shoot simplicity. It also includes a retractable lens, similar to the Fujifilm Instax Mini 12, with two shooting modes: standard and closeup. When the lens is in the off position, it fully retracts.
The closeup mode reduces the minimum focal distance, allowing users to capture more subjects in selfies and closeup shots. For other subjects, the standard shooting mode can be used.
Further details are currently limited, but we will provide a comprehensive overview once we receive official specifications.
