Foxconn reportedly developing microLED Screens for the Future iPhones

Foxconn is a renowned technology giant which is assembling iPhones for Apple. According to new report, the same company is reportedly developing new-generation microLED screens for future iPhones. The company is investing a huge amount of money to keep Apple’s contracts for future iPhones.

The same report claims that Foxconn’s three subsidiaries are working collaboratively to make this happen and they are working hard for the same.

Compared to OLED panels, microLEDs are far better and superior. Apple is using the OLED panels in its devices like Apple Watch, iPhone X and iPhone XS which is the reason why the pricing of these devices are a little higher.

microLEDs work the same way as the OLED panels and will deliver the same rich colors and beautiful contrast so there will be no compromise with its performance.

microLEDs come with an edge over OLEDs. This makes it resistant to burn-in issues when the device overheats. microLEDs make the devices more safe for the users.

Moreover, the microLEDs are more thinner and will consume less energy. It will also resolve the battery issues on iPhones and other devices. Once equipped, the iPhones will offer longer battery life. Most iPhone users are complaining about the poor battery life on their devices. Well, the company will soon try to offer longer batteries on their future iPhones with the new microLEDs.

The microLEDs have a number of drawbacks also which is the reason why manufacturers are not producing it. microLEDs are relatively expensive than the OLEDs and they are backed with yield related issues.

Apple has been planning to invent their own microLEDs since for a long time. The same company had introduced the world’s first microLED manufacturer in the year 2014. However, Apple is yet to manufacture it due to the heavy burden of the new generation iOS, macOS and watchOS devices.

According to the latest reports, Apple will be ready to use the microLEDs in their future iPhones which would make them even more expensive. We will get to know more about the microLEDs in the coming days.
