First ‘Natty Knocks’ Trailer Marks Robert Englund’s Return to the Slasher Genre

If the success of “Scream VI” earlier this year is any indication, it’s clear that audiences still crave classic slasher stories. And now, there’s a new film to look forward to in that genre. Horror icon Robert Englund, known for his role in “Nightmare on Elm Street,” is set to star in the upcoming horror flick “Natty Knocks,” directed by Dwight H. Little of “Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers.”

While additional details about the film are being kept under wraps, it is known that the story will take place on the eve of Halloween and revolves around a small-town babysitter who must survive the deadly rampage of a serial killer named Abner Honeywell. The trailer effectively captures the killer’s violent terror and pays tribute to classic ’80s slasher films, making it a treat for fans of the genre. Englund will be joined by other classic horror actors like Bill Moseley and Danielle Harris.

In addition to Englund, Moseley, and Harris, “Natty Knocks” will also feature the talents of Charlotte Fountain-Jardim, Thomas Robie, Noen Perez, and Jason James Richter. Benjamin Olson has penned the screenplay for the film, which will be distributed by Vertical. Tony Piantedosi, Vertical SVP of Acquisitions, expressed excitement about the project, saying, “‘Natty Knocks’ immediately intrigued us with its collaboration of prolific horror icons who have defined the genre for decades. The film is a testament to Dwight’s experience as a filmmaker, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.”

To give audiences a taste of what’s to come, the official trailer for “Natty Knocks” has been released. It promises an intense and nostalgic horror experience that fans won’t want to miss.

In addition to his role in “Natty Knocks,” Englund’s dedication to the horror genre is evident. He is best known for his portrayal of Freddy Krueger, a iconic character from the ’80s slasher genre. Englund’s legacy as a horror icon was further solidified by his long-running portrayal of Freddy Krueger. It’s worth noting that “Natty Knocks” serves as a reunion between Englund and Little, as Little previously directed an episode of “Freddy’s Nightmares,” a television spin-off series from the ’90s.

While waiting for “Natty Knocks,” fans can delve into Englund’s enduring legacy in the “Nightmare on Elm Street” franchise by watching the documentary “Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story.”

“Natty Knocks” will debut on streaming platforms and in theaters on July 21. Be sure to check out the official trailer for this highly anticipated horror film.
