He explained that this increase is attributed to the improvement of the service of current clients, who have been progressively migrated to fiber optics, as well as the incorporation of new clients in areas where new fiber networks are being deployed nationwide. It should be noted that, at the end of 2023, there are already more than 3 million homes that can access Movistar fiber nationwide.

“We plan to continue promoting fiber, with which we aim that by the end of this year 75% of the traffic of our fixed networks will be through fiber optics,” said Christian Livia. For its part, at the end of 2023, traffic on the Movistar mobile network increased by 16%, highlighted by an annual growth of 16% in mobile data traffic compared to 2022.

It should be noted that in the field of 4G technology, which covers 93% of mobile data traffic, a significant increase was observed in cities in the country such as Lima (20%), Arequipa, La Libertad, and Cusco (17%), Junín (16%), Piura and Lambayeque (12%).
