February Events: Tornadus, New Research Breakthrough, Shadow Raikou, Sinnoh Celebration, Valentine’s event, and more!
February will be one of the busiest months for the Pokemon Go fans as a series of new events are going to hit the platform along with some new Pokemon including the Legendary Pokémon Tornadus.
Tornadus will be the first of the Force of Nature trio to appear in the game, which also indicates that Thundurus and Landorus are coming in future updates. Tornadus will make its way to the game with Heatran in tier 5 raids starting on Feb. 4 at 4 p.m. ET and will be available to raid until Feb. 25 at 4 p.m ET.
Woobat will also be the monthly Research Breakthrough reward, alongside some extra Woobat Candy. This will be the first-ever appearance of Woobat in Pokemon Go. It will be available in the game starting from February 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m and will be available until March 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST.
In addition to that, there’ll be an event celebrating the Sinnoh region, bringing Pokémon from the region into the 7 km egg pool. Budew, Combee, Bronzor, Gible, Riolu, Hippopotas, and Mantyke will spawn out of eggs, with the debut of Shiny Riolu and Hippopotas. They will evolve between February 7, 8:00 a.m and February 10, at 10:00 p.m local time.
There’ll also be a Valentine’s Day event from Feb. 14 until Feb. 17 featuring pink Pokémon. Audino, and Alomomola, two pink ’mon from the Unova region, will make their debut during this event, with Audino arriving alongside its Shiny form. There will also be doubled to catch Candy throughout the event.
As the last celebration of the series of events, there’ll be an event from Feb. 21 until Feb. 24 that will increase the rate at which Friendship goes up, reward doubled trade Candy, halve the Stardust cost of trades, let you open up to 40 gifts a day, and let you hold up to 20 gifts.
Last but not the least, Niantic will also be testing two surprise events during the month. On Feb. 4 from 6-7 p.m., a mystery Pokémon will spawn at a higher rate. And a mystery bonus will go live from 6-7 p.m. on Feb. 6.
