This Summer has been an extraordinary time for moviegoers, and it’s about to get even more exciting when “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” hits theaters in early August. Fans of the Turtles are eagerly awaiting the big screen return of their favorite heroes in a half-shell. Paramount has gone all out with the film’s marketing campaign, featuring new posters, clips, and a plethora of toys. And now, to take the Turtle mania up a notch, fans have the opportunity to explore the iconic sewer lair in the immersive “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Experience.”
This one-of-a-kind experience will be available in New York City and Los Angeles from Sunday, July 23 to Tuesday, August 1. The locations are 415 West 14th Street in NYC and 1247 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica in California, open from 12 PM to 8 PM local time. Visitors to the experience will have the chance to explore the Turtles’ underground home and get a taste of what it’s like to be heroes in training. Additionally, Paramount has partnered with Amazon for this event. At the end of the lair tour, visitors will be greeted by the “Sewer Shop,” where they can find all the TMNT merchandise their Turtle-loving hearts desire. This includes everything from “Mutant Mayhem” and classic TMNT toys to clothing. Exclusive Turtle products from Amazon will also be available for purchase, such as the “Mutant Mayhem’s Leonardo Plush Toy,” the “Classic Cohort Collection” of action figures, and various t-shirts.
What’s “Mutant Mayhem” About?
“Mutant Mayhem” sees the Turtles fully embracing their teenage nature. After years of hiding in the sewers, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello are ready to fulfill their superhero destinies. However, they face a formidable challenge in the form of a new crime syndicate wreaking havoc in NYC with an army of Mutants at its disposal. Along the way, the Turtles find assistance from their soon-to-be lifelong friend April O’Neil, and the rest is crime-fighting history. What sets this film apart from previous TMNT movies, aside from the absence of characters like Shredder, is its target audience. This PG coming-of-age story explores the everyday struggles of being a teenager in the modern world.
