Facebook’s New Tool Lets You Transfer Photos to Google Photos Directly


Facebook is coming up with an innovative and useful tool that will let you transfer your Facebook Photos directly to different photo apps. This tool makes the photo transferring easier from one app to the other. Starting with Google Photos, Facebook’s tool lets you transfer photos and videos from Facebook to other services seamlessly.

We have seen reports that were claiming that the Social Network giant is working on a new data transferring tool by seeking help from various companies and organizations. Now, the company has today announced that they are up with the tool and launching its service with Google Photos.

Starting from Ireland, the company is launching this tool. Facebook’s International Headquarter is in Ireland and they have decided to start their new service from the same place. As per the officials, the company has begun testing out this new tool for a limited number of users in Ireland for now. They are seeking for feedbacks from the users who have been offered this service.

Talking about the worldwide availability of this new data transferring tool, the company is expected to launch this tool in the global market in the first quarter of the next year i.e. Q1, 2020.

Furthermore, the porting feature will also be added directly to the Facebook app. Once it is made available, Facebook users will be able to share photos from one service to the other with just one tap. As noted above, the service will be launched with Google’s popular photo storage app, Google Photos. The company has also said that they will add more photo storage services in the future to this app.

Popular networks such as Apple, Twitter, Facebook, Microsoft and Google started a new venture called Data Transfer Project collaboratively. As per their commitment, “a common framework with open-source code that can connect any two online service providers, enabling a seamless, direct, user-initiated portability of data between the two platforms”.

Talking about the security and privacy of the users’ data, Facebook has further noted that they will take care of the privacy and security of the users by adopting new security features and technologies.

Starting from today, Facebook’s new tool is available for the limited number of users of Ireland.
