Facebook Users in the US Can Create Custom Avatars Starting Today


Back in 2019, Facebook had introduced Avatars – one of the most anticipated features that Facebook users have been waiting for long. However, until now, it was only available in Australia. But now, the social media giant has expanded the availability of custom Avatars to the United States. Starting today, users can design digital recreations of themselves, and post them in comments and Messenger chats.

These avatars are similar to Snap’s BitMoji app but have their own distinct look. The US rollout of Facebook Avatars which comes nearly a year after the initial launch coincides with the release of new clothing, hair, and skin tone options.

To design your own Avatar, you need to find the new “Make Your Avatar” option within the stickers menu in the comment composer on Facebook or Messenger. These avatars can only be used in comments, chat, and Facebook Gaming profiles.  However, Facebook says that text posts will eventually support the simulacra.
