Facebook is testing a new feature to take full control of the notifications of its app. Most Facebook users find the Dot Notifications of Facebook Group annoying as they are irrelevant and not useful for regular users. Of course, for some users, these notifications are useful. But those who don’t want to show up such dots notifications on their Facebook app, then you will soon get a new update to disable these annoying notifications from the mobile app.

Every time you check Facebook on your phone, you will be presented with dots notification on the app. This is indeed an annoying thing as you may not want to see unwanted notifications within the app. Social Media User has shared information that Facebook is testing a new control feature to get rid of this Red Dot notification on the app.

These bright red dots are called Badges in terms of Social Networks, appears on the home screen when you launch Facebook on your mobile. This red dot notification lets you know that something is new there to a particular section of the app. This red dots can be seen on the group’s section, videos section, marketplace section etc. These badges are not appropriate as they are always there even if you have watched the ad or video as alerted by the badges.

Unfortunately, this new feature is still on its testing environment and not officially released for Public. The same is now available for a limited number of users on iOS and Android platforms.

If you want to check whether you are a part of this test or not, you can head over to your Facebook’s “Settings and Privacy” menu. Scroll down to see Notifications option. Here, you should see a new option called Notifications Dots. It will feature a Toggle button that lets you turn off or turn on the notifications as per your needs. You can have full control to select the badges for particular groups of pages from the menu.

Facebook will soon come up with an official statement regarding this new update. Stay tuned for more information about this new feature.
