Facebook is testing a new feature that will allow you to cross-post your stories on Instagram. This is not the first time that the social media giant is testing this feature. In 2017, Facebook has released a new tool that enables you to cross-post Instagram Stories to Facebook. However, that tool has no capability to cross-post the other way around.
Now, Jane Manchun Wong, who often digs into unreleased features in social media apps, discovered the option to share a Facebook story to Instagram in the Facebook for Android app. She discovered the experimental “Share Story to Instagram” toggle within the Story Privacy settings and switching it on activates a “Share to Story” button.

Later on, the company itself has confirmed to TechCrunch that it’s now formally testing the feature to make it easier for users to share thier moments on both of these platforms at a time. Although both Facebook and Instagram have different audiences, if you want to share Stories with friends on both platforms, the feature will allow you to do so.
In addition to that, Facebook also told the publication that it will continue exploring options to simplify and improve how Stories work across its apps. As of now, we have no idea of how this feature will work on both of these platforms, however, we will get a clearer look at it in the coming weeks when it will be tested by beta testers.
