During the ongoing lockdown in the country, most of the people are relying on video calling to virtually connect with their loved ones while promoting social distancing. Looking forward to the increasing demand for video calling, tech giants have started advancing the features and limits of video calling on their platforms. In the same move, the social media giant has announced Messenger Rooms last week which is now made available to everyone out there.
Facebook Messenger Rooms is basically the social media giant’s response to Zoom’s popularity, although aimed squarely at consumer use cases. From today onwards, it will be available for everyone to use. However, this feature has started to roll out globally, so, it might take some time to reach everyone.
When you have it, you can create a room from Facebook (in North America) or Messenger (globally). You can have up to 50 people on a free video call, with no time limits whatsoever. Facebook Messenger Rooms has also a host/guest system like on Zoom, so, you can invite people who even don’t have a Facebook account.
In addition to that, Messenger Rooms also gives you full control of your rooms. You can choose who gets to see and join your room, and remove people from it at any time, or even lock the room if you don’t want anyone else to join.
