Facebook Messenger Mobile App Crashes in Parts of UK and Europe

As per the reports, Facebook’s Messenger app is down in some regions of the UK and Europe. Several hundreds of Facebook users have reported that they have not been able to open the Messenger app on their iOS and Android devices. The problems were first noticed by the DownDetector website. People residing in different parts of Europe and the United Kingdom have reported that they are encountering issues when they try to send or receive messages using the Messenger app.

Due to this issue, users are unable to see the online status of their friends in the Messenger. Frustrated users have tweeted about their inability to view active friends in the app. On the other hand, some people are unable to receive notifications.

According to a report, quite a significant number of individuals have raised a complain that they have not been able to use the application since daybreak. Messenger app suffered a crash at approximately 6 o’clock in the morning. Reportedly, the application stayed down until 5 o’clock in the evening.

It seems that the outage hit only the Android and iOS counterparts of the Messenger app. The web application was running normally, without any glitches.

The international communications manager for the Facebook Messenger team, Dalya Browne, stated that users might have, for a short period, experienced difficulty in sending and receiving messages in Messenger app.

This recent crash occurred just a handful of days after the previous technical glitch that lasted approximately a whole day.

The official Facebook website also seems to have been affected with certain issues, but the web social networking service has not suffered an impact as grave as the one experienced by the Messenger.

The Facebook Messenger app is top-rated across the globe and boasts the second position with respect to the number of international users. Stay tuned with TechnoCodex for more updates.
