Facebook Messenger Kids Fails As It Allowed Group Chat With Unapproved Contacts


Facebook has a special messaging app for Kids named Facebook Messenger for Kids. Over the past few days, the messaging app for kids is getting some issues which are violating the policies of the app. This app is designed for the Kids who can chat and communicate with the approved numbers only.

Now, the messaging app has found an issue that letting everyone use this app without the need for the approval of the contacts. To resolve this issue, Facebook has sent out notices to parents whose kids are using the Facebook Messenger Kids app.

The official notice sent by Facebook to parents notes as Technical Error. This error allowing kids to join group chats with approved contacts and their approved contacts.

In general, Facebook Messenger Kids allows users to join groups of non-approved contacts only. There is a special section or feature called Group Chat available on the messaging app. This feature allows users to make group chats within their community. Facebook too has addressed this issue but denied to speak up in public.

This flaw allowing approved contacts to invite any of his contacts to the group chat. This makes even strangers taking parts into group communications. Since members of the group can invite an authorized person to the group chat, the group will full of strangers.

Facebook has confirmed this issue to The Verge that the alert email has been sent to parents whose kids are using this app. Facebook’s representative has also come up and discussed things about this issue. As per this statement, they have removed the affected chats from the history of the users.

If we talk more about this app, Facebook Messenger Kids was launched in the year 2017. This app is a dedicated messaging app for Kids and fully controlled by their parents. The app is packed with a number of security features allowing parents to take full control of the app and its features.

Parents can approve contacts with whom their kids can chat and communicate with the app. There are no words on the fix of this issue by Facebook. However, the Social Network giant will soon come with a new update to this app.
