Facebook Is Working on Smart Glasses with Ray-Ban

Facebook is reportedly working with Ray-Ban on a new venture to produce AR-based Glasses. Yes, the companies have been found working together to take down Snapchat’s AR-based Spectacles. According to reports, these sunglasses codenamed Orion.

Facebook is showing up its interest in various fields and the Social Network giant has been investing a lot of money in various platforms over the past few months. We have already been told that they will soon come up with an advanced AR-based product.

The new AR-based Sunglasses will work independently. You will be able to receive phone calls or make calls right from the glasses without integrating or connecting it with your smartphone. You will see all the information in a small screen. The glasses will also feature a small display on the side.

If we talk about Google Glass, it does offer kind of the same features to its users. But Facebook’s Glasses will be more advanced as it will come with even more powerful features and functions for the new generation users.

Apart from this, the Facebook Glasses will also feature a Camera lens that will allow the users to live broadcast their journey to their friends and followers.

Furthermore, reports claim that Facebook partnered with the popular eyewear brand and the makers of Ray-ban glasses i.e. Luxottica. The new Facebook Glasses will hit the market in the coming years. The production of the Glasses has begun already so we could expect them to produce the Glasses faster.

Additionally, some reports also claim that Ray-Ban is also working on their new range of Glasses powered by Augmented Reality. The Ray-Ban branded Smart Glasses will have a different codename i.e. Stella and not the Orion.

The Ray-Ban made Smart Glasses will hit the market even before the Facebook’s Orion Glasses in the next few years. Stella will also come with a Camera and it will let users record precious moments with its built-in memory.

Unfortunately, there is no official statement made by Facebook on its Smart Glasses. However, we can expect to hear some more information from the Social Network Giant about their new venture in the Eyewear industry.
