Facebook Is Testing Campus for College Students

Many of you might be well aware of the history of the popular social networking platform Facebook. The founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerburg started this social network for the college campus and for limited people. Today, Facebook has over 2.5 Billion users globally which make it the world’s most popular social networking platform.

Today, Facebook’s software engineer Jane Manchun Wong revealed on Twitter that the Facebook Team is currently working on “Campus”, a new space exclusive for college students.

There will be Groups, Events, etc for “Campus” spaces. You can find the official tweet which is embedded below.

The team is working on a special space called Campus along with the main Facebook platform. As per the description, this new feature would be exclusively available for the college students or we can say the communities of colleges.

To do so, College Students would be allowed to create an account or to log in to this platform by using their College Email ID. Upon logged in, the students will be allowed to access the groups, events and other social activities in different campuses.

It’s all about creating a community with like-minded students by letting them know you. You will be asked a few questions which you need to select or give your answer. Once you are done with it, you will be able to connect with the like minded students from the platform itself. Basically, the platform will ask for your permission to let others know about you as a student of the university.

This was the basic idea behind Facebook when it was launched. However, things went way ahead and it has become a part of everyone’s life. We all spend a lot of time on Facebook. In fact, we explore Facebook as a second world as everything is included in this single platform. You can stay connected with the world by following the pages, doing business with Facebook Marketplace, exploring videos of news channels and live streaming as well.

It would be interesting to know how Facebook will implement this new Facebook Campus feature in the future. We will get to hear more about this special feature in the coming days.
