Facebook’s Crisis Response Tool is a disaster and reporting communication tool. With this tool, users can request or offer help during an emergency. The tool is currently supporting over 300 crises. Facebook is working more for its availability in new regions.
The aim behind developing this Crisis Response Tool or feature is to help one another during the disasters. It is a good idea to save your family, friends, relatives, communities and people who live nearby.
TechCrunch reported that Facebook has revamped the Crisis Response Tool and it will let users report disaster and seek help in real-time. Recently, Facebook’s update has brought a lot of improvements to this tool. Along with the improvement of this tool, the same app has added multiple features for the existing customers.
Facebook Crisis Response now works with WhatsApp. People can now request or offer help through this response feature via WhatsApp. Until now, people are allowed to share the information on Facebook Messenger app only. But from now, they will be able to use the same feature through WhatsApp.
The update allows Facebook users to provide information about such disasters to state and local officials directly. It will also send the same reports to federal relief agencies which are actively working to save the lives of human beings from such disasters.
Additionally, the Social Network is also collaborating with NGOs and organizations for the collection of goods and other relief funds and materials. It will also let them know where to supply the materials with the exact locations.
Moreover, Facebook is collaborating with the International Displacement Monitoring Centre to update their disaster maps. The updated disaster maps will offer more accuracy with better navigations. The same feature lets users share and upload photos and videos directly to the Crisis Response Centre for immediate help from the organizations and other agencies.
