facebook: After Messenger chats, Facebook starts merging Instagram Stories with main app

Over the years, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has made it quite clear how the company plans to integrate the main social networking website with popular social media platforms that it owns — mainly Instagram and WhatsApp.
Just last month, Facebook started integrating Messenger chats and Instagram direct messages for both Android and iOS running devices and after that the next thing the social media giant wants to integrate appears to be Stories as the company has started testing a feature that allows your Instagram followers to to see your Stories on Facebook as well.
As per the screenshots provided on Facebook, Facebook is giving the users the option to turn this feature on or off. The screenshots clearly mentions that only the people who follow you on instagram — who’ve linked their Facebook account — will be able to see your Stories on Facebook and people you are just friends with on Facebook and do not follow on Instagram will not be able to see them.

The screenshot claims that you will appear on other people’s Facebook by the same name as your Instagram profile and you can see all the views and replies on Stories through Instagram itself.
Existence of the feature was confirmed by Alexandru Voica, EMEA Communications Manager, Engineering, Facebook to Matt Navarra who posted it on Twitter.

In a statement, Voica said, “Yes it’s real. We’re testing a new feature that gives people the option to view Stories from Instagram on Facebook, making it easier to view moments from people you care about, regardless of what app you’re using. To see Instagram Stories on Facebook, people must have their accounts linked and opt into experience. This feature respects all existing privacy settings, and people on Instagram can choose to not have their Story visible on Facebook. This is a limited test for now, and we’ll be listening to feedback from our community.”
