Nvidia has confirmed that this 16GB version will be released this month, with rumors suggesting that it will be available on July 18. Unfortunately, it seems that very few add-in board partners will be providing review samples, so we may not get a detailed look at the card before its launch.
This information comes from the tech channel Hardware Unboxed on Twitter, who claims that there will not be a review program for the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. They speculate that Nvidia and its partners are not keen on promoting the card.
Nvidia and its add-in board partners may be intentionally limiting coverage of the upcoming release, which aligns with the recent leak suggesting that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB may not be impressing AIBs (Add-In Board partners). If there is limited promotion, it may explain why the company is not organizing a review program.
There is also a possibility, as mentioned by Hardware Unboxed, that the release strategy for the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB is similar to that of the RTX 3080 12GB. This refers to the fact that the original RTX 3080 model had 10GB of VRAM, and when the 12GB version was released, Nvidia also decided not to have a review program for the card.
We reached out to Nvidia for comment and received the following response: “There won’t be an FE (Founders Edition) for the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, so it will be an AIC-only card (meaning review samples will come directly from AICs).” Therefore, it will be up to the add-in board partners to send out review copies. If they choose not to do so, we will have to wait until the launch day to get a taste of what the 16GB RTX 4060 Ti can offer.
