EA has officially revealed the cover of the highly anticipated EA Sports FC 2024 Ultimate Edition, and it’s received mixed reactions.
The Fifa series, now known as EA Sports FC, has always been known for its visually impressive graphics. While the games have generally been serviceable in terms of graphics, they have never been groundbreaking. The box art for the different entries in the series has been mostly inoffensive. However, today, the EA Sports FC Twitter account shared a first look at the box art for the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 2024, and it’s quite different from what fans were expecting.
Where do we begin with this one? First of all, it seems like the faces of some of the footballers on the cover have been deepfaked onto their bodies. Additionally, while most of them are looking straight into the imaginary camera lens, a few are looking to the side as if there’s another camera present. It’s a strange and unsettling sight that I never thought was possible.
Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland, the current favorite footballer, is featured in the center, which aligns with leaks suggesting he will also be the cover star for the regular edition of the game. The cover for the regular edition is yet to be revealed, but hopefully, it will be more engaging than the Ultimate Edition cover.
As of now, not much information has been officially released about the upcoming refresh of this classic sports game. The release date and platforms have not been confirmed, but it’s safe to assume that it will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. However, it would be wise for EA to make some improvements to the cover before its release.
