Dragon Ball Super Card Game unveils new cards from the Broly – Second Coming-inspired section of Critical Blow, the upcoming expansion.
Bandai has officially announced the name of the next expansion for the Dragon Ball Super Card Game. Titled “Zenkai Series – Critical Blow,” this set marks the fifth expansion in the Zenkai Series and the 22nd main series set for Dragon Ball Super Card Game. Notably, it will feature a God Rare card, making it the fourth God Rare in the game’s history, following Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta from “Realm of the Gods,” Bardock from “Rise of the Z-Legends,” and Son Goku from “Wild Resurgence.” In addition to the God Rare, this expansion will focus on various aspects of the Dragon Ball franchise, including the “Z” era Broly movies (“Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan,” “Broly – Second Coming,” and “Bio-Broly”) and “DBS: Super Hero.” Today, we will be taking a closer look at some more cards inspired by the movie “Broly – Second Coming” from the Green-colored section of Dragon Ball Super Card Game: Zenkai Series – Critical Blow.
These cards showcase the protective nature of father figures in the Dragon Ball universe. Despite their occasional delay in joining battles, Goku and other fathers always come through when their family needs them. One of the featured cards, “Family Kamehameha, Emotions Delivered,” depicts Goku and his two sons, Gohan and Goten, united in their Super Saiyan forms as they unleash a powerful Kamehameha together. The interpretation of Goku’s presence in this scene is open to interpretation, as it could symbolize his actual physical presence or a more symbolic representation of his support. Either way, this card pays homage to the iconic Father/Son Kamehameha from the Cell Games saga.
