A Gleaming Future for Wakanda

In an exciting development, the long-rumored Black Panther game has been confirmed to be in the works. Electronic Arts has unveiled Cliffhanger Games, a new AAA development studio based in Seattle, as the lead developer for this highly anticipated project.

Under the guidance of industry veteran Kevin Stephens, former Studio Head of Monolith Productions, known for the critically acclaimed Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor series, Cliffhanger Games is committed to delivering a definitive and immersive Black Panther experience. Players will have unprecedented agency and control over the game’s narrative, exploring the rich superhero sandbox that is Wakanda.

Kevin stated, “Our mission is to create an epic world for players who are passionate about Black Panther and eager to delve into the depths of Wakanda. With an original story and a third-person single-player format, we are collaborating closely with Marvel Games to ensure an authentic representation of this beloved superhero and his kingdom.”

Joining the ranks of other major publishers with Marvel projects in the works, such as Sony’s Spider-Man and Crystal Dynamics’ Marvel’s Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, Electronic Arts is venturing into the Marvel universe once again. This marks their return since the 2005 release of Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects.

With the upcoming release of Sony’s highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on October 20, along with the newly announced Black Panther game, Marvel fans have plenty to be excited about.
