Dead by Daylight is a horror game that keeps you coming back for more. Whether you’re teaming up with friends or strangers, this game guarantees a thrilling experience. Thanks to its developers, the game receives regular updates with new content. However, as with many game updates, players have reported bugs which the developers are quick to address.
Recently, a popular killer in Dead by Daylight, The Mastermind, was temporarily disabled due to a bug following the latest update. The developers acknowledged the bug via Twitter and noted that The Mastermind will be re-enabled as soon as the issue is fixed in an upcoming patch. Unfortunately, they haven’t revealed the nature of the bug which has caused the character’s removal.
The developers were able to disable The Mastermind using the Kill Switch, a recently added feature that allows them to temporarily switch off problematic elements such as characters, cosmetics, items, maps, and offerings. When deactivated, these elements cannot be used by players. Once the issue has been resolved, developers will reactivate the elements.
The Kill Switch list is accessible on the Dead by Daylight forums. Here, players can find information on its operation and the elements currently disabled in-game. As a fan, I hope the Kill Switch’s effects don’t last too long, and the developers provide more information on the situation. While some fans are happy with The Mastermind’s removal, many killer mains aren’t.
