Crystal Minkoff Blasts ‘Racist’ Followers In Instagram DMs

RHOBH’s Crystal Kung Minkoff exposes the hurtful messages she received from viewers about her race. The star had the best response for her bullies.

Newcomer to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Crystal Kung Minkoff isn’t holding back on Instagram followers who hurled racist insults her way. Crystal has received many favorable reviews from fans since she joined the cast of RHOBH on season 11. The series’ first Asian-American housewife is an open book about her life and has been praised for being vulnerable and real. Crystal is also proud of her Asian heritage and has spoken about struggles related to her race on RHOBH. While many fans are receptive to Crystal’s refreshing personality on the show, the star has received her fair share of online hate through her freshman season.

Beverly Hills fans recently noticed that Crystal seemingly deactivated her Twitter account without warning. It was pointed out that Crystal has received many hateful messages from viewers on Twitter about her race and Asian culture. Crystal was called disparaging names by viewers and accused of poorly representing Asian-Americans on television. Fans believe the racist hate online led Crystal to shut down her Twitter. Unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped viewers from sending hate Crystal’s way in her Instagram DMs.

The rookie housewife took to her Instagram Story to expose hurtful messages she has received. Crystal shared a screenshot of a follower’s message telling her she needs to leave RHOBH. The follower made a disparaging remark about Crystal making dumplings, an Asian cuisine. Crystal hit back at the uneducated insult with a perfectly savage response. “Acting like a d*** won’t make yours any bigger,” Crystal wrote, adding, “and my dumplings aren’t good. They’re amazing!” Crystal added “Stop Racism” and “We don’t hang with racists” stickers to the story.

Another IG user took issue with Crystal putting her hater on blast and claimed their message wasn’t racist. “When people don’t even know what racism is,” Crystal wrote over a screenshot of that message. The user fired back in yet another DM to the star with a inappropriate comment about Crystal, who was born to immigrant parents, and her Haitian RHOBH co-star Garcelle Beauvais. In the screenshot, Crystal sent a DM back to the angry follower. “Americans aren’t racist,” Crystal responded, “You are.” Crystal signed off politely, writing, “Be well. And good luck to you.

Fans are hoping the incident won’t lead Crystal to delete her Instagram as she did with her Twitter account to avoid hate messages. Crystal isn’t the first Asian-American housewife to receive inexcusable hate for her race online. Bravo announced its support of the Asian community after The Real Housewives of Dallas star Tiffany Moon was the subject of racist hate. If the network claims to be committed to anti-racism, it will stand by and defend Crystal, who is receiving nasty messages. Hopefully Crystal will remain unbothered by the hate and carry on posting her stylish looks and delicious recipes for her supportive followers.
