Crunchyroll Secures Exclusive Streaming Rights for SUPER HERO

Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO, the feature film spinoff of Dragon Ball Super, will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll beginning on July 12th.


Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO, the newest feature film spinoff of the popular Dragon Ball series, will be streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll from July 12th, joining every Dragon Ball feature film anime ever made on the streaming service. Both the original Japanese version with subtitles and the dubbed version will be available.

Dragon Ball creator and legendary mangaka Akira Toriyama is responsible for the film’s original story, screenplay, and character design. Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO marks Crunchyroll’s first worldwide theatrical release, debuting in over 100 countries with 13 dubbed and 29 subtitled languages. The film has also achieved a global box office gross of $96 million, making it the fourth-highest-grossing anime film in the US. Following the success of Dragon Ball Super: Broly in 2018, Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO is the second film installment in the franchise.

According to the official synopsis, “The Red Ribbon Army, once defeated by Son Goku, has returned with the creation of two ultimate Androids named Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These Androids proclaim themselves as ‘Super Heroes’ and initiate attacks on Piccolo and Gohan. What will be the objective of the New Red Ribbon Army? In the face of impending danger, the time has come for the Super Hero to awaken!”

Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO is directed by Tetsuro Kodama, and features the original Japanese voice cast, including Masako Nozawa (Gohan, Goku, and Goten), Toshio Furukawa (Piccolo), Yūko Minaguchi (Pan), Ryō Horikawa (Vegeta), Mayumi Tanaka (Krillin), Aya Hisakawa (Bulma), Takeshi Kusao (Trunks), Miki Itō (Android 18), Bin Shimada (Broly), Kōichi Yamadera (Beerus), Masakazu Morita (Whis), Hiroshi Kamiya (Gamma 1), Mamoru Miyano (Gamma 2), Miyu Irino (Dr. Hedo), Volcano Ota (Magenta), and Ryota Takeuchi (Carmine).

The English voice cast includes Kyle Hebert (Gohan), Sean Schemmel (Goku), Robert McCollum (Goten), Jeannie Tirado (Pan), Christopher. R Sabat (Piccolo and Vegeta), Sonny Strait (Krillin), Monica Rial (Bulma), Eric Vale (Trunks), Meredith Mccoy (Android 18), Johnny Yong Bosch (Broly), Jason Douglas (Beerus), Ian Sinclair (Whis), Aleks Le (Gamma 1), Zeno Robinson (Gamma 2), Zach Aguilar (Dr. Hedo), Charles Martinet (Magenta), and Jason Marnocha (Carmine).
