Vincent D’Onofrio has addressed a recent quote in which he appeared to threaten violence against Spider-Man. D’Onofrio played the villainous Kingpin in Marvel’s Daredevil series, and in a clip that circulated on social media, he said, “We’re going to get you one day, Spider-Man […] There may be a sea between us, but I’m going to get you…” However, the actor later clarified on Twitter that he was speaking only to a fan dressed as Spider-Man during a Q&A panel at a Dallas fan expo. D’Onofrio added that he loves to interact with cosplayers and that he never said anything of the sort to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Could Kingpin and Spider-Man Face Off in the MCU?
Despite D’Onofrio’s clarification, the question remains whether his Kingpin could ever cross paths with Holland’s Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since Kingpin appeared in the Hawkeye series, it’s clear that he’s officially part of the MCU. And given that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil has already made appearances in the MCU, a live-action confrontation between Kingpin and Spider-Man is still a possibility. It would be an exciting development for fans of both characters, especially since they are major rivals in the comics.
