Control Ultimate Edition for PlayStation 5 finally has a price at retail in India for the physical version of the game on disc. According to a listing spotted on specialist game store Games The Shop, the Control Ultimate Edition PS5 India price is Rs. 2,999. Internationally it’s a $40 game (around Rs. 2,992) so publisher 505 Games appears to ensure parity across regions. Control Ultimate Edition for PS5 has a March 2, 2021 release date for India, also inline with the rest of the world.
Control Ultimate Edition PS5 frame rate
Developer Remedy claims that Control Ultimate Edition comes to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with a 60fps Performance Mode and 30fps Graphics Mode (with ray-tracing).
If you own the base version of Control that launched in 2019, you’ll be able to play it on your new PS5 or Xbox Series X|S minus all the bells and whistles of the Ultimate Edition. If you bought Control Ultimate Edition for PS4 and Xbox One however, you can play that on your new console with all the enhancements.
Why you can’t upgrade Control to Control Ultimate Edition
Previously 505 Games released a blog post that explained why the base version of Control will not get a free next-gen console upgrade like many other games.
“To bring Control to next generation consoles in any form, we had to make some difficult decisions and those came in the form of creating the simplified Control Ultimate Edition product plan we have today. That we took a while in responding does not mean we have not been listening. We are sorry we couldn’t meet everyone’s expectations and we hope you will continue to support Control. We thank you for your support thus far.”
This means that only those who purchase the Ultimate Edition will get the free upgrade. You won’t get the upgrade even if you’ve bought all DLCs separately. It’s a mercenary move that teaches consumers not to bother with buying a great game at launch as an improved version is almost guaranteed.
