new nonprofit set up to spread the gospel of quantum computing
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – There is a new nonprofit set up to push quantum computing in Chattanooga and beyond.
The Chattanooga Quantum Collaborative officially launches today.
The goal of the organization is to match quantum resources with business and community partners in our region.
They want to use it to develop our workforce, grow our economy and improve our infrastructure with quantum technology.
Specifically, they want to match EPB’s quantum computing infrastructure with business, government and academic partners.
And, of course, a big challenge is educating our area on just what quantum computing is.
Charlie Brock, who led LaunchTN, has been appointed CEO of the nonprofit organization.
“I’m honored to play a role in helping our area realize the potential that quantum offers for technology-based economic development, bringing together stakeholders to drive job creation, economic mobility, and new innovations,” said Brock.
The CQC’s first tasks are:
— leading the second annual World Quantum Day beginning April 14
— Develop a 10-year plan to support quantum technology
— bring in quantum experts for CO.LAB’s second annual CoMobility Summit in May.
Mayor Kelly, Bob Corker and EPB CEO David Wade are all on the board.
