Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood Announced Exclusively for PS4

Castlevania Requiem is a game bundle which includes classic games Rondo of Blood that came out in Japan in 1993, and the sequel has been released in 1997’s Symphony of the Night. The story goes around the vampire hunter Richter Belmont and Alucard, Dracula’s son. Symphony of the Night has been considered to be the best Castlevania game and had appeared on many best games of all time lists.

Just recently, Konami has announced Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood that will only be exclusively on PlayStation 4, and will be available for download on October 26, 2018, for $19.99 and pre-orders are now available. This announcement followed the game’s rating at the Korean game rating board which has been awarded a T (teen) rating.

The exclusive PS4 release might have been decided as both of the rating boards have references only on the PS4 version. The official page of the game mentioned that both the Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood are included. The rating board looked at the two releases, one in Japanese, and another in English, which could give us a clue that it will also have a Western release.

Both of the games are the originally emulated for PlayStation 4. It has some updates including 4K / 1080p resolution upscaling, multiple high-resolution backgrounds, different rendering options such as smoothing, and a full Trophy support. They also have a utilization for the DualShock 4 controller’s vibration, analogue sticks, speaker, and playing a chime when you pick up an item.

Konami did not make further official announcements yet about the other console version, Castlevania Requiem could still be planned to have its version for Xbox One, or PC.
