The upcoming installment of the highly popular game franchise Call Of Duty, speculated to be titled Modern Warfare 3, is expected to be officially announced next week. Activision, the publisher of the game, has been dealing with fake artwork circulating online.
Although the game’s title hasn’t been officially confirmed, leaked images of Monster Energy packaging have revealed a new logo for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. These leaks also showcased a new outfit for the beloved character Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley, as well as advertisements for in-game rewards.
The excitement surrounding the release of the new game has led to numerous fan-made mock-ups of what Modern Warfare 3 might look like. In an attempt to dispel any skepticism about the game’s visuals, Activision shared its own official artwork on their Call Of Duty Twitter account.
Jokes on you, real key art here.
We’ll share our artistic abilities and even more next week. pic.twitter.com/UCCexH7IMr

The official artwork is a simple yet effective stick figure depiction of a person with a serious expression, holding a firearm while wearing what appears to be a cowboy hat. The words “MODERN WARFARE REDACTED?” and “CALL OF DUTY” are displayed in the font Comic Sans.
Comic Sans, which has faced criticism in the past, has actually gained recognition as one of the most legible fonts for individuals with dyslexia. The caption accompanying the “real key art” for the new game stated, “We’ll share our artistic abilities and even more next week.”
Activision’s laid-back response to leaks and their interaction with players regarding the next Call Of Duty game has endeared them to their fanbase. However, some expressed concerns that this might indicate a lack of seriousness in the development of Modern Warfare 3 and potentially result in less content than expected.
In other gaming news, attendees at an event stumbled upon a special edition of the game Vampire Survivors: Director’s Cut, featuring unique content such as a 300-player local chicken co-op level.
