Build-to-order Macs Finally Available in India Ahead of Apple Store Launch

Apple has finally started allowing Indian customers to configure iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and other Mac computers based on their requirements. This service was earlier available in selected markets including Canada and the USA, and now, it has moved to India.

With this service, customers in India can pick their own RAM, storage, or graphics preference while ordering a new Mac machine. Apple customers in India have been waiting for long to get custom configurations for MacBook and Mac desktops. And now, the company has finally started this service in the Indian market.

To offer custom configurations, Apple has started configure-to-order (CTO) or build-to-order (BTO) option in India for its Mac devices, as first reported by TechCrunch. You can find the configuration options on the Apple India site. As of now, this service is not available through all Apple Authorised Distributors in the country. However, some sources claim that this service will reach every distributor within a few days.

Customers ordering customized MacBook and Mac desktops will need to wait for over a month to get their orders delivered, mainly depending on the availability of the components. Also, it is important to note that the configuration options are currently available only through offline stores and not e-commerce sites including Amazon, Flipkart, and Paytm Mall.
