Borderlands 3: How To Find the Legendary One Punch Man Shotgun

Borderlands 3 is a first-person role-playing action shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to 2012’s Borderlands 2, and the fourth installment to the Borderlands series. It is released for all the major platforms such as Windows (exclusively on Epic Games Store), Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Every Borderlands game has tons of pop-culture references and easter eggs, and Borderlands 3 is no different. With the newest addition in the series, the developers elevated it to the next level. While exploring Pandora, the world of Borderlands 3, players have found a legendary weapon related to the popular anime show One Punch Man, which is referred to as the One Pump Chump shotgun in the game. There’s also a Rick and Morty themed shotgun, which we plan to cover in a different article in the future.

If you have started playing Borderlands 3 and want to acquire the legendary shotgun which is as powerful as the mighty One Punch Man, continue reading this article to know how you can obtain the One Punch man shotgun.

One Punch Man Easter Egg and Legendary Shotgun location in Borderlands 3

If you want to get the ‘One Pump Chump’ legendary shotgun, first you have to complete some of the main missions in the game, and level-up your Vault Hunter to level 20. Then you have to head over to Promethea and enter Lectra City. To get there, you can go through the exit located at the center of the Meridian Metroplex area on the map. When you are close, you will see a marker for a quest called ‘Proof of Wife’. Now, go to the quest giver for ‘Proof of Wife’ near the New-U station and follow the subway via the entrance. Once you reach the end of the stairs, you will find yourself underground. You have to go to your right, where you will most likely encounter a few enemies. Continue walking in the same direction until you can turn left to a small staircase. Again, walk straight until you see a dark area on your left. You will bump into a dead end.

If you have found the dead end, that is where you need yourself to be. Pass through the L-shaped zone with a fence on the left and a chest on the right. You have to enter the fenced area.

After entering the fenced area, you will see a few wheels, levers, and buttons that you can interact with. In order to unlock the door on the other side, you’ll need to press them in a specific order which is instructed below:

  • First, shift your character towards the door on the other side.
  • Press the button on your left.
  • Turn the wheel on the pipe.
  • Now, pull the lever on your right.
  • Pull the smaller lever on the metal cabinet on the left.

Your objective is to turn on all the screens around the door. If the sequence does not work for you, keep pushing the buttons, pulling levers and rotating the wheels until the door opens on the other side.

When you successfully open the door, you will encounter an enemy named ‘One Punch’. With his massive robotic arm, ‘One Punch’ can take you down with a single swing. You have to carefully dodge his attacks and kill him quickly.

When dead, the enemy will drop the legendary One Punch Chump shotgun. There’s a chance you won’t receive it on your first attempt, so you may have to repeat the same process a few times.

Shotgun Description: “I swear, that has never happened before.”

The name of the shotgun is a reference to One Punch Man. It’s an incredibly powerful pump-action JAKOBS-branded shotgun with a foregrip. The damage depends on how far you’re shooting your enemy. Though a single shot is enough to kill enemies, a special perk gives it a 50% chance to not consume ammo when fired. So you can sometimes fire two or more shots, even if it’s a one-round magazine weapon. All of this firepower comes in a simple looking weapon, with an old-western theme and a wooden finish.

Just like Saitama, also known as the One Punch Man, the legendary ‘One Punch Chump’ shotgun lives up to its name with its ability to potentially take down enemies with a single hit.
