Big Bang’s Mayim Bialik Merges Superheroes & STEM in New Trailer


A new trailer for Flash Facts, the middle-grade graphic novel curated by Mayim Bialik, spotlights the science behind the heroes of the DC Universe.

A new trailer for Flash Facts, DC’s first STEM middle-grade graphic novel curated by The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik, PhD, has been released.

Bialik, who is a neuroscientist in real life, narrates the trailer. The graphic novel will feature the Flash teaching readers about forensics, as well as Supergirl exploring the depths of outer space. Finally, Cyborg and Beast Boy will learn about the effect virtual reality can have on the body.

Flash Facts features a wide range of creators curated by Mayim Bialik, including Varian Johnson (Twins), Cecil Castellucci (Shade, the Changing Girl), Kirk Scroggs (Snoop TroopThe Secret Spiral of Swamp Kid), Michael Northrop (Tomb QuestDear Justice League), Isaac Goodhart (Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale) and many more. Images from the book feature Plastic Man looking at Batman’s armored Batsuit meant to combat Firefly, and Supergirl visiting Saturn and Jupiter.

Bialik portrayed Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory, who was also a neuroscientist. Amy joined the cast in Season 3, eventually entering into a relationship — and later marriage — with Sheldon Cooper. Bialik currently stars on the Fox comedy series Call Me Kat.

Flash Facts goes on sale on Feb. 2. The book is currently available for pre-order at DC’s official website.
