This series satirizes millennial dating culture with references unique to the city, ironically airing in 2020 as the COVID-19 pandemic made dating even more complicated. The series was, unfortunately, short-lived with only three episodes, but it showcased the duo’s comedic talents and their chemistry.
Their collaboration on Ayo and Rachel Are Single was a precursor to Bottoms, a queer sex comedy about two high schoolers who start a fight club for girls to get close to their crushes. Co-written by Sennott, the film has been described as “Fight Club meets Heathers”, with a poster that harkens back to classic teen comedies like Not Another Teen Movie and She’s the Man. Fans of Edebiri and Sennott can catch them in their individual projects, but they’d do well to tune in to their hilarious collaboration in Ayo and Rachel Are Single before Bottoms hits theaters on August 25th.
