Niantic has released details about the 2023 Pokemon Go Fest, the annual gathering of Pokemon fans worldwide. This year’s event will be held in three locations: London, Osaka, and New York City. The London and Osaka events will take place simultaneously on August 4-6, while the New York City event will be held on August 18-20, with a worldwide in-game event scheduled for August 26-27.
A blog post on the official Pokemon Go Fest website provides complete information about the New York City event, including the introduction of Diancie, a mythical Pokemon, in Pokemon Go, as well as the debut of Carbink. Additionally, Sigilyph, usually only found in Greece and Egypt, will appear in North America for the first time. Three new shiny Pokemon, Unown, Golett, and Skrelp, will also be available to catch during the event. Furthermore, Pikachu and Eevee will be available for photo ops in Randall’s Island Park during the festival.
Players who purchase tickets to the event will receive exclusive in-game perks throughout New York City, including a 50% decrease in walking distance required for eggs in incubators to hatch, double candy for caught Pokemon, six daily special trades, reduced Stardust trading costs, and the potential to earn up to nine free Raid Passes by spinning photo discs at Gyms.
Tickets for Pokemon Go Fest in NYC are currently available at an early bird price of $25 until June 15, after which they will increase to $30, with in-game only tickets available for $15. Pokemon Go can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android devices. As a heads up, GameSpot may receive a share of the revenue if any of the featured products are purchased through the website.
