About two years before, Atari has announced to bring its own VCS console in the coming year. However, the company has been getting continuously delayed to fulfill its promise. But now, it looks like the company is ready to showcase its VCS as soon as mid-June.
The team has revealed that the first 500 (or so) Atari VCS production models should leave the factory by mid-June. Although that will still leave the majority of Atari’s 11,597 crowdfunding backers waiting, the team “cautiously” expects that production for those will be running this summer.
Although the team has announced to bring the first 500 Atari VCS, we are still in shadow to get full details of the VCS even with a game subscription deal locked in. Even though, it is good news for those who have been waiting for long and were expected more delay to see the VCS.
Well, it will be interesting to see whether Atari’s VCS becomes successful or not. However, it is expected to be a powerful device for the money with an embedded Ryzen chip and some PC-like functionality. Still, there’s no guarantee that it will meet your dream console expectations.
