Arc the Lad R Game Revealed For Android and iOS


ForwardWorks has today announced the launch of Arc the Lad R Game for Android and iOS as the successor of their Arc the Lad 2 in Japan. The Lad franchise debuted in Japan back in 1995 on the original PlayStation and it is coming to Mobile almost 23 years later. ForwardWorks and Sony originally announced the game in December 2016. The game maker ForwardWorks has started pre-registration in Japan available on the website and would be free to play.

The Arc the Lad series spans five games, with the first game shipping for the PlayStation in 1995, and the latest game, Arc the Lad: End of Darkness, shipping for the PlayStation 2 in 2004. The original game inspired a 1999 television anime.

The background would be the Great Calamity destroyed much of the planet, we meet a boy named Haruto who belongs to a group known as the Millmana that is looking to rebuild the world to reclaim what has been lost.

As he is helping out, an event occurs where Haruto has a fated encounter with a mysterious young girl named Mizuha. However, the monsters that caused the calamity, to begin with, are also now returning to the land to lay claim on what is theirs, creating a huge cloud of uncertainty to fall on the heads of those who still remain. Peace is no longer available, and now Haruto and Mizuha, along with the heroes of the past, must try and find a way to stop the demons from once again destroying the world.

The new offering for the mobiles would be in the original narrative and going to release ten years after the Arc the Lad II. The story would be narrated by a new hero Haruto’s perspective.

The Arc the Lad R is an RPG for smartphones featuring strategic battles. Along with this details of the game including character details and story, details have been provided on the website. The release date is yet to be confirmed and most importantly its availability outside Japan remains unclear.
